Crisis Resources 

Are you or your child in active crisis?  Do you or your child have thoughts of suicide or harming yourself/themselves?  Is someone at risk of being hurt?  Is someone currently agitated, aggressive or having rapid mood swings?  Is someone currently confused or acting irrationally?  We are unable to provide active crisis support but please see below:

For immediate assistance, please call 911, go to your local hospital emergency department ie. CHEO, or contact your local crisis line.  For Ottawa residents, these are some of your crisis options: 

  • 911 or your local hospital ER or CHEO

  • 988 for Suicide Crisis Helpline.  Text or Call. 

  • Mental Health Crisis Line: 24/7 for ages 16+, 613-722-6914.

  • The Distress Centre- Crisis line open 24/7 for ages 16+, 1-866-966-0991 (services Ottawa, Renfrew, and the counties of Prescott and Russell, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry)

  • The Distress Centre- Distress line open 24/7 for all ages, not for emergencies, 613-238-3311. You can also text between 10am and 11pm, 7 days a week. Text: 343-306-5550. 

  • PLEO Parents' Helpline, Mon-Fri 9am-7pm, 1-855-775-7005 , Caregivers of children up to age 25. 

  • Kids Help Phone- 24/7, ages 20 and under, 1-800-668-6868. Provides phone and web counselling.

  • Youth Services Bureau (YSB)- 24/7 Crisis Line, 613-260-2360. Provides youth and family crisis support.
